Time: 10:00 AM, Saturday 21 February 2009
Location: Bucks County Council Service Center
Information: It’s time to start planning summer camping for your Pack, if you have not already done so. We’re planning a meeting for Pack Camp Coordinators at 10:00 AM, Saturday 21 February 2009 at the Council office, to provide information on Camp Kirby for the 2009 season.
Pack Camp Coordinators are parents who serve as a liaison between your Pack and the Council office, who help provide information to others in your unit, and help them with camp registration. Please send someone from your Pack to get information on the session schedules, fees, forms, and registration process. If you cannot have someone attend, please gather information from this website or, for Bucks County Council units, from District Roundtable.
We’re also planning a registration night at the Council office on Wednesday, 1/21. Early registration gives you first choice of dates. And registrations paid in full at the January sign-up night will receive a special discount of half-price for the 3rd night for both youth and adults.
Cub DayTime: Saturday, March 14th, 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM (registration at 8:30) |
Cub Day (Held november 8th)Thanks to those who were able to help at Cub Day on Saturday. We had about 40 Cub Scouts and 30 adults attend, some returning and some visiting Camp Kirby for the first time. Even with a little rain, the Cub Scouts, organized into 3 Dens, were able to earn 5 belt loops, and have a lot of fun while earning them. We were able to offer the 5 belt loops planned (Ultimate Frisbee, Flag Football, Soccer, Marbles and Music), and also provide tours to adults who had not visited Camp Kirby before.

The cornerstone of the Cub Camp Scout Resident Camp Experience is Camp Kirby. As part of this program, Cub Scouts and Webelos experience a two through five night program packed with activities most Packs can't match, including archery, BB shooting, outdoor skills, ecology, handicrafts, swimming and other activities that take place in the outdoors.
Three-night sessions are for all Cub Scouts including Tigers, Wolves, Bears, and Webelos 1. Boys going into Webelos II are encouraged to attend an extended session, which has more advanced activities, including using wrist rockets (slingshots) at the range! Two-night sessions are available for those with limited time. All youth and adults attending camp must bring a current health form. A doctor's signature is required for those age 40 or above or anyone staying more than three nights.
Visit the registration page for more information on 2009 sessions. The Leader Guide is a comprehensive outline of the program and policies of Camp Kirby PDF version or RTF version. (2008 version, 2009 information will be available in January.)
